Strategic Communications

We drive the strategic narrative and content for NYC initiatives. We develop integrated communications strategies to increase mindshare of NYC and its divisions and engage youths and stakeholders through content that resonates with our target audiences. As the amplifiers for NYC, we plan and manage the public relations, marketing and digital engagement efforts to effectively communicate NYC’s vision and outcomes to the public.

Strategic Planning & Research

We drive the planning, alignment, and monitoring of strategies and youth insights that guide the work of the National Youth Council towards its vision and mission. Our Research team undertakes and supports research that leads to informed policy and practice, and effective engagement of young people. We also spearhead national-level youth research efforts alongside programme evaluation and consultancy for the organisation and stakeholders.

Transformation Office

We aim to build an agile, capable, data-driven and youth-centric NYC, powered by passionate and purposeful people. We work across teams, functions and disciplines to strategise, design, testbed, drive and support public sector transformation in NYC.

We deliver critical support and professional advice as a strategic partner to NYC divisions. Our team plays a key role in ensuring the integrity and efficiency of company administration and the governance systems and procedures for our corporate functions. We seek to deliver a seamless service experience for our internal and external stakeholders, and to create a safe and optimal working environment that enables the work to flourish and helps our staff to grow and thrive.

We engage, build relationships and curate opportunities for partnerships with youth sector organisations and youths to develop future-ready youths and youths who are committed to Singapore.

We spearhead and oversee the design, development and delivery of innovative modalities to enable digital engagement and participation among NYC’s youth target audience. Our Youth Leadership team plans, manages and implements the youth leadership developmental and engagement framework and award recognition schemes to identify, develop and support young adult leaders by providing suitable platforms and opportunities to take on higher responsibilities in national level youth programmes / initiatives and contributing towards social good. The Global Office team oversees the coordination of government-to-government youth relations and provides youth leaders with opportunities for representation at international and regional platforms.

Established in 1967, we are recognised for our experience in outdoor education with more than 500,000 people trained. Our staff are highly qualified professionals with an affinity for the outdoors and passion for developing people. As a national training institution, our mission is to develop mentally and physically rugged youths to be active citizens inspired to serve the community.
